Meet Our Providers
All of our physicians are board certified family practitioners and provide a full range of care for all members of your family. Our certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants, under the supervision of our physicians, complement our practice by providing walk-in care, wellness visits and management of your chronic illnesses.

Erin is the newest member of our team at the Fredericksburg office. Erin attended the University of Virginia where she earned her undergraduate degree. For fourteen years, Erin worked as an RN in the ICU, Cardiac Cath lab and emergency department.
During this time, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from George Washington University and is now a board certified nurse practitioner. Erin cares for patients of all ages.
When not in the office, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 daughters, travelling.
Located in our Fredericksburg office, Dr. Cook attended West Virginia University where he earned his undergraduate degree in 1989 and his medical degree in 1993. Dr. Cook completed his internship and family practice residency at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Cook is a board certified family practitioner and joined Rappahannock Family Physicians in 1996.
Dr Alexander grew up in Chester, West Virginia. She attended West Virginia University and received her BA in Biology in 1994. She then attended the Marshall University School of Medicine and received her MD in 1998. Staying at Marshall, she completed her residency training in Family Medicine and was board certified in Family Medicine in 2001. That same year, she moved to Virginia and since then, she has enjoyed practicing in both rural and urban sites.
Dr Alexander cares for patients of all ages – infants to older adults. She especially enjoys caring for women’s health, pediatrics, diabetes, hypertension, and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Located in our Spotsylvania office, Samantha attended the University of Virginia where she earned her undergraduate degree in 1995. She worked at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center and earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia.
Samantha is nationally certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and joined Rappahannock Family Physicians in 2001.

Dr. Hillman was born and raised in Fredericksburg, VA. He attended the University of Virginia and received a BA in Psychology in 1995, followed by Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he received a medical degree in 2002. His residency training in Family Medicine was completed at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, and he became board certified in 2005.
After completing his medical training, Dr. Hillman entered into active duty service with the US Navy, and was stationed at the Submarine Base in New London, CT for four years. Upon completion of active duty obligations, Dr. Hillman returned to Charlotte, NC where he has been practicing medicine in the outpatient, urgent care, and virtual care settings. In 2013, Dr. Hillman received an MBA from Duke University, and has been actively engaged in leadership roles at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Hillman enjoys the full spectrum of Family Medicine, including care for patients of all ages.
Dr. Hillman is an avid UVA sports fan, and loves the Washington Redskins and Washington Capitals. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, reading, and trying new restaurants.
