Meet Our Providers
All of our physicians are board certified family practitioners and provide a full range of care for all members of your family. Our certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants, under the supervision of our physicians, complement our practice by providing walk-in care, wellness visits and management of your chronic illnesses.

Erin Stewart, NP-C
Erin is the newest member of our team at the Fredericksburg office. Erin attended the University of Virginia where she earned her undergraduate degree. For fourteen years, Erin worked as an RN in the ICU, Cardiac Cath lab and emergency department.
During this time, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from George Washington University and is now a board certified nurse practitioner. Erin cares for patients of all ages.
When not in the office, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 daughters, travelling.
Rafael O Hernandez, MD
Wilson Cook, MD
Located in our Fredericksburg office, Dr. Cook attended West Virginia University where he earned his undergraduate degree in 1989 and his medical degree in 1993. Dr. Cook completed his internship and family practice residency at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Cook is a board certified family practitioner and joined Rappahannock Family Physicians in 1996.

Dana B Brown, MD
Located in our Spotsylvania office, Dr Brown received her undergraduate degree from John Hopkins University and received her medical degree from the University of Virginia in 1997. She completed an internship at the Medical College of Virginia and completed a two-year family practice residency at Hanover Family Physicians in Mechanicsville, VA.
Dr. Brown is a board certified family practitioner and joined Rappahannock Family Physicians in August 2000.
Deepa Pai, MD
Dawn Alexander, MD
Dr Alexander grew up in Chester, West Virginia. She attended West Virginia University and received her BA in Biology in 1994. She then attended the Marshall University School of Medicine and received her MD in 1998. Staying at Marshall, she completed her residency training in Family Medicine and was board certified in Family Medicine in 2001. That same year, she moved to Virginia and since then, she has enjoyed practicing in both rural and urban sites.
Dr Alexander cares for patients of all ages – infants to older adults. She especially enjoys caring for women’s health, pediatrics, diabetes, hypertension, and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Samantha Franz, FNP-C
Located in our Spotsylvania office, Samantha attended the University of Virginia where she earned her undergraduate degree in 1995. She worked at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center and earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia.
Samantha is nationally certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and joined Rappahannock Family Physicians in 2001.
