Billing Policies

Payment is expected at the time of service.  As a courtesy to our patients with insurance coverage, Rappahannock Family Physicians will file primary and secondary commercial insurance claims.  For your convenience, we accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.  A $40.00 fee is assessed on all return checks.

Patient Obligations and Their Insurance Coverage

Please review your patient responsbilities section as described in your insurance benefits summary.  Co-payments are the responsibility of the patient and are expected at the time of service.  Insurance cards are to be presented at each visit.

Patients are expected to keep our staff updated of any changes including address and phone number changes and insurance coverage changes.

Rappahannock Family Physicians reserves the right to refuse future treatment for non-payment of past services.

We will supply support and information requested by your insurance carrier in order to resolve any billing dispute(s).  However, it is ultimately the patient´s financial responsibility for the services rendered.
